about Caroline

Six years ago, after coming off the birth control pill, my period suddenly stopped.

I started worrying: what’s wrong with me? Surely you need a period to get pregnant and have a baby, right? What if I can’t have a baby in the future?

My doctor’s advice was to “go back on the Pill” if I wanted my period back. Unsatisfied with this option, I booked to see a gynaecologist and an endocrinologist who ended up diagnosing me with Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and hypothalamic amenorrhea. Quite the shock!

Determined to find a natural way to heal and to get my period back, I turned to Google (of course!) And this is when my journey into alternative medicine started; acupuncture, reflexology, nutritional therapy, psychotherapy, I tried them all.

I felt frustrated, angry, lonely and sad but I ended up finding relief when my period eventually came back naturally. It took a long time but I am so grateful for the journey because I learned so much and discovered nutritional therapy. I became passionate about the body’s ability to heal naturally and function optimally when given adequate care and fuel. So much so, that I decided in 2017 to embark on a 3-year course at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London to study nutritional therapy. I graduated in 2020 and that same year I also gave birth to my daughter Christina.

My purpose now is to help women get to the root cause of their symptoms and teach them how they can use food and lifestyle approaches to manage their health and optimise their well-being.

I am a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine and I am registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council. These associations force me to continue my training and update my knowledge in nutrition and lifestyle medicine by attending conferences and webinars online.

I am currently based in Suffolk, United Kingdom, and available for face-to-face appointments in the U.K. and video consultations with clients based in Europe.

about releaf nutritional therapy

I believe that we are all different and when it comes to nutrition, a “one size fits all” approach doesn’t work. My perspective is holistic which means that I look at your ‘whole’ life including your physical, mental, genetic, environmental and social traits.

I’m not going to give you a magic pill that will suppress your symptoms instantly, but I want to get to the root cause of your problems and understand what’s really going on in your body. This way, we will be able to better address your hormonal imbalances and correct them with appropriate dietary and lifestyle changes. I want to help you find “releaf”.

I believe that food can be very powerful and therapeutic when used in the right way. As Hippocrates said “Let food be thy medicine”.
